Job summary

CDM Smith is looking for an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. You will assist with planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and project performance, working with project managers and teams to ensure schedules and costs are on track.

The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of project management methodologies, familiar with Primavera and EcoSys, and strong teamwork, communication and organizational skills. This is a hybrid role with potential travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Entry level knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills in fast paced environments.
• Demonstrates good written and verbal communication with staff and vendors.
• Entry knowledge of Enterprise Project Portfolio Management tools (Primavera).
• Basic knowledge of Project Performance tools (EcoSys).

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and gathers progress data to update and monitor basic complexity projects.
• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates costs and updates requirements.
• Generates earned value reports and drafts client/internal status reports.
• Uses document management protocols to store and retrieve project documentation.
• Performs other duties as required.
