Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team in a hybrid role. You will support scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and project performance activities for projects of basic complexity, collaborating closely with project managers and teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and entry knowledge of Primavera and EcoSys, plus strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Entry level knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts.
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills in fast paced environments.
• Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with staff and vendors.
• Entry knowledge of Enterprise Project Portfolio Management tools (Primavera).
• Basic knowledge of Project Performance tools (EcoSys).
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and gathers project progress information to update and monitor basic complexity projects.
• Under supervision, develops and maintains integrated critical path schedules for portions of routine projects.
• Generates and analyzes earned value reports and discusses observations with supervisor and project manager.
• Performs basic financial analyses and prepares routine financial reports.
• Uses document management protocols to store and retrieve project documentation.
• Performs other duties as required.
