Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team in a hybrid US-based role. You will assist with scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and earned value analysis, collaborating with project managers and team members.

The ideal candidate has an entry level understanding of project management concepts, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Primavera and EcoSys.

Qualifications

• Entry level knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts.
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills in fast paced environments requiring daily shifting of priorities.
• Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with varying levels of staff, as well as vendors.
• Entry knowledge of Enterprise Project Portfolio Management tools (Primavera).
• Basic knowledge of Project Performance tools (EcoSys).
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.
• Good computer skills including proficiency in MS Word and Excel; organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
• Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and project performance analysis for basic projects.
• Supports compliance with internal procedures and regulations.
• Maintains schedule progress, cost baselines and resource requirements under supervision.
• Generates and analyzes earned value and client/internal status reports.
• Uses document management protocols to store and retrieve project documents.
• Performs other duties as required.
