Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. This role supports planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and project performance to help projects stay on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has entry-level knowledge of project management, familiarity with Primavera and EcoSys, and strong teamwork and communication skills. A Bachelor’s Degree is required; travel up to 10% may be involved and hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and government regulations; updates schedule data and resource requirements.
• Develops, maintains, and analyzes time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs and updates requirements.
• Performs earned value management and basic financial analyses; prepares routine cost/schedule reports.
• Documents and assesses the impact of project changes on cost/schedule baselines.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and analyzes integrated critical path schedules for portions of routine projects.
• Evaluates early warning signals to project managers in collaboration with leads.
• Generates and analyzes earned value reports; discusses observations with the supervisor and project manager.
• Uses document management protocols to store and retrieve project documentation.
• Performs other duties as required.
