Job summary

Hatch in Pittsburgh, PA, invites applications for a Junior Procurement Agent. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support offices globally while based in our Pittsburgh office.

We welcome recent graduates with relevant skills and provide a path to develop expertise in bid documentation, vendor selection, and Incoterms. We value in-person collaboration, but offer flexibility to work remotely when needed.

Qualifications

  • Roles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be university/college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills.
  • Preferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, engineering, or relevant discipline
  • Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Package Coordinator, Planner, and Logistics to verify specs, lead times, and Incoterms.
  • Prepare Commercial Bid documents and issue Bid Documents to Bidders from an approved Bidder List
  • Manage the prequalification and selection of bidders
  • Prepare and issue Bidders List and coordinate approval process
  • Supervise bid process confidentiality; log bid questions and issue addenda
  • Coordinate technical and commercial evaluations; use Incoterms and payment terms
  • Review vendor comments and incorporate Special terms and conditions
  • Meet schedule milestones for Bid-Evaluate-Award cycles
  • Expedite post-award activities including data, fabrication, progress payments, and logistics
  • Gain valuable on-site practical experience

Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Procurement Agent. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support offices globally working from our Pittsburgh, PA office location.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, engineering, or relevant discipline
  • Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
As the successful candidate, you will:
  • Be the liaison with Package Coordinator to obtain and verify technical specifications, with the Planner to verify lead times and delivery dates, and with Logistics to assure cost effective and practical Incoterms
  • Prepare Commercial Bid documents (including contractual terms and conditions, delivery requirements, quality/inspection requirements and other documents related to the scope of supply, etc.), and issue Bid Documents to Bidders from an approved Bidder’s List
  • Manage the prequalification and selection of bidders
  • Prepare and issue Bidders List and coordinate approval process
  • Supervise and maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the bid process. Log bid questions and responses and issue addenda as required.
  • Coordinate technical evaluations and conduct commercial evaluations, use of proper Incoterms, payment terms/milestones including clarifications and/or negotiations
  • Review vendor comments of General terms and conditions and incorporate Special terms and conditions, as required
  • Meet schedule milestones for Bid-Evaluate-Award cycles
  • Expedite all post-award activities including vendor data, fabrication, verification of progress payments, and coordination of vendor quality surveillance, logistics, and delivery to site
  • Gain valuable on-site practical experience
You bring to the role:
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite (including remote locations)
  • Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset
