Job summary

Fabcon in the United States is seeking a Drafter I to produce precast product elevations and design sets for engineers, customers, and field use. You will produce production and steel drawings to support plant operations.

The role requires a 2-year drafting degree, proficiency with AutoCAD, strong communication, and the ability to work with Architects, Engineers, and vendors. Occasional travel and overtime may be required; join a team focused on precision and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand blueprints, customer sketches, and specifications.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
• Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external contacts.
• Flexibility to change tasks midstream.
• Some discretion and independent judgement may be required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Layout precast units with CAD to correlate with plans, specs, addenda, and bid package.
• Recommend efficient panel layouts to related parties.
• Communicate with Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, Steel Vendors, and Outsource contacts.
• Document changes or concerns and forward to the job team.
• Carry out tasks to support drafting group goals.
• Input ideas to streamline processes and improve standards.
