Job summary

WSP in Saint Louis, MO is seeking an Early Career P&C Field Engineer to join our Power and Energy Team. You will assist with design, data analysis, and documentation for substation and power delivery projects, gaining hands-on experience in transmission, distribution, and renewable energy contexts.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 0–1 year of experience, with strong research, communication, and safety discipline.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
0–1 year post-education experience preferred.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Familiarity with electrical construction laws, codes, regulations and compliance practices.
Effective communication with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Willingness to travel as project needs require.

Responsibilities

Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for substation components and equipment specifications.
Learn/assist design tasks including single line and three line diagrams, bus arrangement, grounding, and protection.
Support basic professional electrical engineering work under supervision.
Develop electrical calculations for loads, feeder sizing, and voltage drop.
Prepare documentation using electronic systems and field notes.
Adhere to safety guidelines and project procedures.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
May require travel as needed.
