Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) Voting Rights Project seeks a Junior Policy Analyst to assist in policy, research, and program planning under close supervision by the Directors. You will support interpretation, monitoring and analysis of policies and provide information to department administrators, stakeholders, and the legal team.

Responsibilities include helping with administration and implementation, data extraction, and preparation of concise reports.

Qualifications

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse audiences (Required).
  • Working knowledge of social science research methods and ability to communicate findings clearly (Required).
  • Strong organization and experience using project management tools to track tasks (Preferred).
  • Excellent writing, reporting and copy editing for academic/public audiences (Preferred).
  • Ability to extract data, merge datasets, and review syntax for large data sets (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in policy, research, and program planning, development, administration, management, and implementation. (Under close supervision)
  • Interpret, monitor, and analyze information regarding policies and procedures.
  • Provide information and support to department administrators, stakeholders, and the legal team.
