Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Abilene, TX is seeking an Associate Project Manager for Fire/ Life Safety Systems to support our Smart Infrastructure team. You will review project documents, develop schedules, manage materials, and coordinate with the project team to ensure installation milestones are met.

The role requires hands-on experience in the commercial fire and life safety industry, knowledge of NFPA codes, a valid US driver’s license, and legal work authorization.

Qualifications

• Technical experience in the commercial fire and life safety industry.
• Knowledge of local and national (NFPA) fire alarm codes and regulations.
• Eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish project intent.
• Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the project team, identifying time-sensitive installation requirements.
• Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects.
• Review plans and specifications and participate in project cost reviews.
• Assist the Operations Manager in the solicitation and contracting of subcontractors.
• Conduct orientations for project technicians and provide comprehensive project documentation, including scope of work, drawings, applicable specifications, application-engineered drawings, and project contacts.
• Track resources and project progress.
• Document project events that impact the schedule, scope of work, and project efficiency.
• Pursue project-specific change-order opportunities.
• Coordinate and pursue project-specific billing, collaborating with the Accounting team and Operations Manager.
• Schedule project-specific commissioning resources and provide commissioning documentation.
• Expedite the return of project-specific mark-ups for as-built development.
• Complete project-specific close-out documentation.
• Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures, and report unsafe conditions and actions.
