Job summary

DNOW is seeking an entry-level Programmer I to support the development and testing of PLC and HMI programs under direct supervision in Midland, TX. The role focuses on basic programming, documentation, troubleshooting, and commissioning support while building foundational skills.

Responsibilities include developing simple PLC/HMI logic blocks, testing and validating control programs, updating documentation, and assisting with commissioning.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role assisting in the development, testing, and modification of PLC, HMI, and automation control programs under direct supervision.
• Support engineering and field service teams by performing basic programming tasks and documentation updates.

Responsibilities

• Develop and edit simple PLC and HMI logic blocks under supervision.
• Assist with testing, simulation, and validation of control programs in-house and in the field.
• Update documentation, tag databases, I/O lists, and revision logs.
• Support system commissioning by monitoring program behavior and performing controlled adjustments.
• Troubleshoot basic automation issues with guidance from senior programmers.
