Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an entry-level Piping Engineering & Analysis engineer to support data collection, calculations, and basic designs under supervision in our Charlotte, NC office. You will learn to apply ASME codes and project standards while developing practical engineering skills.

You will participate in vibration analysis, hydraulic transient assessments, and piping evaluations as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering with emphasis in solid mechanics, structural analysis, theory of elasticity, metallurgy, and finite element analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office applications

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, gathers data and prepares simple calculations.
• Under supervision, prepares simple system/structural designs.
• Gathers data for specifications.
• Gathers data and prepares simple bid tabulations.
• Gathers data for reports/studies.
• Communicates technical information and results clearly to project team members and supervisors.
• Gains familiarity with accepted standards and processes for assigned tasks.
