Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Piping Engineering & Analysis group is seeking an entry-level engineer to learn practical applications of engineering principles through data collection, processing, and evaluation. You will perform calculations and analyses of limited scope under supervision and support design tasks while growing professionally.

The role emphasizes learning, data gathering for specifications, and clear communication of results to the project team, with opportunities to engage in AI/automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering with emphasis in solid mechanics, structural analysis, theory of elasticity, metallurgy, and finite element analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, gathers data and prepares simple calculations.
• Under supervision, prepares simple system/structural designs.
• Gathers data for specifications and bid tabulations.
• Gathers data and prepares simple reports/studies.
• Communicates technical information and results clearly to project team members and supervisors.
• Gains familiarity with accepted standards and processes for assigned tasks.
• Completes assignments within allocated time frames.
• Develops personal capabilities to the fullest on assigned projects.
