Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Piping/Plumbing Engineer I to join our Madison office. You will assist senior engineers with load calculations, system sizing, layouts, and equipment selection, while mentoring designers as you grow.

Initially you will perform field surveys, review shop drawings, and contribute to project meetings. With progression you will lead teams, write specs, and support construction-phase activities.

Qualifications

• BSME/BSAE from ABET accredited school in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Non-academic internship.
• Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities/student organizations preferred.
• EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
• Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform load calculations, determine system sizing and layouts, calculate equipment sizes and select equipment.
• Complete field surveys and review equipment shop drawings.
• Lead piping/plumbing project teams as you gain experience.
• Write specifications and participate in project meetings with clients and other consultants.
• Support construction-phase activities.
