Qualifications

• 0–1 year of animal-related experience preferred (shelter volunteering, pet sitting, or grooming assistant)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in pet grooming
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices
• Effective verbal and written communication with pet parents and team
• Weekend, evening, and holiday availability as required by grooming schedule

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, perform limited grooming services (bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning)
• Ensure safety and well‑being of every animal in the salon
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide top customer service
• Maintain clean and safe grooming area, sanitize tools, and perform cleaning tasks
• Schedule grooming appointments and maintain grooming records
• Learn and follow Petco's grooming policies and guidelines
