Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. seeks a Junior Pet Stylist in Grooming to begin a ten-week training period learning bathing, drying, nail trimming and more under seasoned groomers. You will gain hands-on experience with guidance, to develop essential grooming skills and set the foundation for a future Petco Grooming career.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of animal-related experience preferred (shelter volunteering or kennel/ grooming assistance)
• High-school diploma or GED is preferred, though not required
• Genuine passion for animals and desire to pursue a career in pet grooming
• Capable of handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy
• Effective verbal and written communication with pet parents and grooming team

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision of experienced groomers, perform limited grooming services (bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning) as per instructions and company policies
• Ensure the well‑being and safety of every animal in the salon at all times
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide optimal customer service
• Maintain a clean and safe grooming area and sanitize tools and equipment
• Schedule grooming appointments and maintain accurate grooming records
• Learn and adhere to Petco grooming policies and guidelines to ensure safety, quality and consistency
