Job summary

HCLTech in Cary/Jacksonville seeks a Patch Management Analyst to coordinate server patching across Windows and Linux environments. You will manage maintenance windows, apply patches with WSUS/SCCM/Satellite/Ansible, and verify system health post-patch while updating CMDB and ITSM records.

Qualifications

• Basic administration of Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with patch management tools WSUS, SCCM, or Satellite.
• Introductory knowledge of virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and snapshot management.
• Ability to read logs and identify post-patch issues.
• Awareness of ITSM concepts like CMDB and change management.

Responsibilities

• Execute server OS patches (Windows Server, RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) per change schedule.
• Perform pre-patching health checks including disk, services, backups, and snapshots.
• Apply patches via WSUS, SCCM, Satellite, or Ansible under supervision.
• Validate post-patch server functionality and run smoke tests.
• Document steps and outcomes in ITSM change records.
• Monitor patch dashboards and flag non-compliant servers to L2.
• Coordinate maintenance windows with application teams and stakeholders.
• Support rollback activities if patch issues occur.
• Maintain CMDB server inventory and patch status.
• Escalate unresolved issues or vulnerabilities to L2.
