Job summary

PHLY Insurance Services Inc is seeking an Underwriter Trainee to support P&C underwriting teams in Bala Cynwyd, PA or Leawood, KS. You will handle administrative underwriting tasks, enter submissions, and assist with pricing referrals and endorsements under delegated authority.

You will learn product knowledge, workflows, and collaborate with loss control, claims, and administration to service routine accounts while developing underwriting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish and build healthy working relationships with clients, vendors and peers.
• Basic knowledge of insurance products.

Responsibilities

• Enter all new and renewal submissions and update workflow tracking system.
• Take pricing referrals, coverage questions and endorsements on our Automatic book.
• Run reports to determine assignments and perform account status follow-up with agents, brokers and marketing.
• Clarify and correct missing or incorrect information and follow up on binding conditions.
• Learn key components of P&C products and company workflows and procedures.
• Support underwriting staff using the required systems, forms, methods and procedures.
• Interact with loss control, claims, and administration to service routine accounts.
