Job summary

CarePlus New Jersey is seeking a Junior Accountant to join the Finance team under the Controller. You will learn non-profit operations with exposure to grants, contracts, and fee-for-service, while gaining hands-on experience in cash reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance.

In this entry-level role you will contribute to monthly close, budgeting support, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, some bookkeeping experience, and a valid

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years related bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• 2 years knowledge and experience in bookkeeping/accounting.
• A valid driver's license and insurability under Agency's automobile insurance policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger by reconciling bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, prepaid accounts and accrued liabilities.
• Prepare adjusting entries for amortization of prepaid expenses and analyze accounts payable transactions.
• Prepare budgeting and periodic reports for contract reimbursement and provide financial status information.
• Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries and reports.
• Participate in implementing accounting systems and internal control procedures.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking transactions as needed.
• Assist with annual audit and tax return filings.
