Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Junior NOC Network Administrator to monitor servers and core services, perform basic troubleshooting, and execute routine maintenance under supervision.

In a fast‑paced federal IT environment, you will document configurations and incidents to support auditability, patching, backups, and orderly handoffs. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 0–3 years in a related role, and DoD 8180 IAT‑II certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years in junior system administration or NOC support or similar roles.
• Foundational understanding of system administration concepts (users/groups, file permissions, basic networking).
• Experience with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, backup solutions, and basic virtualization.
• US citizenship with SECRET clearance (active within 24 months) required.
• Current DoD 8180 IAT-II certification (Security+ or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor servers, OS, and core services using monitoring and ticketing tools; review alerts and prioritize actions.
• Execute standard OS administration tasks including patching, configuration changes, restarts, backup verification, and user/group management.
• Assist with troubleshooting common system issues and escalate beyond runbook guidance.
• Maintain accurate system documentation, inventories, baselines, change records, and incident logs.
• Participate in incident response, backup/recovery, and security monitoring tasks.
• Collaborate with network and security teams to gather diagnostics and validate restoration of services.
• Support adherence to incident, change, and configuration management processes.
