Job summary

The Bison Group LLC is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and document LAN/WAN solutions for U.S. government clients in the Washington, DC area. You will analyze topologies, perform configurations, and provide guidance to operations staff while ensuring security and compliance.

Required qualifications include CCNA, Security+ and TS/SCI with CI poly (or ability to obtain prior to start). Expect up to 20% CONUS travel and collaboration on complex network modernization efforts.

Qualifications

• CCNA certification held (or equivalent)
• Security+ certification required
• TS/SCI with CI poly clearance or ability to obtain before start
• Experience with Cisco and Juniper devices
• 3+ years in network OSs, routers, switches, cabling, and LAN/WAN protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
• Ability to engineer and document network solutions

Responsibilities

• Assist with network design plans and baseline configuration
• Analyze topologies, traffic, and capacity; provide recommendations
• Brief government customers on solutions and designs
• Complete network surveys, installations, and documentation
• Perform IOS upgrades and device configurations
• Create and maintain network diagrams and inventory
• Support change management for deployments
• Provide technical support to operations staff
• May perform general network admin duties
• Travel up to 20% CONUS to customer sites
• Participate in special projects as required

Our mission on this program will be the design, transition, operations, and continual service improvement to include tech modernization, tech refresh, or Capital Equipment Replacement Program (CERP) activities associated with the clients’ LANs, CAN and Unified Communication services. More About the Role:

• Assists with plans of network design, layout and develops the baseline configuration for the system.
• Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements and provides recommendations and guidance.
• Briefs government customer and other contractors on recommended solutions and designs.
• Complete network engineering surveys and installations.
• Assist with the development effort for the standard documentation maintained.
• Complete IOS upgrades and device configuration changes.
• Complete network documentation for physical and logical diagrams, design documentation, and inventory support.
• Perform cable infrastructure tasks as required.
• Complete change management requests to support device installations.
• May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users to operation staff.
• May perform general network administration duties as needed.
• Up to 20% CONUS travel to customer sites as needed.
• Participates in special projects as required.

Requirements

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Active Security+ Certification
• Active TS/SCI with CI poly clearance OR TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI poly prior to starting.
• Familiarity with both Cisco and Juniper network devices
• Three years of experience with network operating systems (e.g.; Cisco; Juniper); network hardware (e.g.; routers; switches; cabling and other essential network hardware); and LAN/WAN protocols (e.g.; OSPF; BGP; MPLS). Type 1 Encryption.
• Must be capable of engineering and documenting network solutions, not just deploying or configuring.
• Good verbal and written presentation skills.
