Job summary

The Bison Group LLC seeks a Tier 3 Network Operations Engineer in the Washington, DC area to design, implement and document complex network solutions. Expect collaboration with teammates, extensive problem-solving, and travel to client sites as needed.

The ideal candidate holds TS/SCI with CI Poly (or TS/SCI with CI Poly eligibility), CCNA, and IAT II or equivalent, with a strong background in network operations and engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• IAT II certification or equivalent is required.
• CCNA certification is required.
• Active TS/SCI with CI Poly or TS/SCI with CI Poly prior to starting is required.
• Willingness to travel to other sites for network operations and administration activities.
• Minimum education/experience combinations as listed.

Description

As a Tier 3 Network Operations Engineer, you will be continuously challenged to solve complex tasks requiring extensive research, teamwork, and creativity. You will design and deliver solutions requiring a high level of coordination and technical ability. You will write high-level technical documents to articulate problems and solutions to an audience of varying technical backgrounds.

In this role, the T3 Network Operations Engineer will be responsible for:

• Network implementation and installation of technical projects within a site or locale.


• Facilitating engineering design data calls.


• Identify and recommend network changes that enhance operational efficiencies for network monitoring, management, and operations.


• Troubleshooting network failures and accessibility issues.


• Ability to work independently and in a team.


• Develop network-related implementation and deployment documentation.


• Develop network designs that meet customer requirements efficiently and effectively.


• Lead research and testing of new or modified hardware or software products to determine performance and interoperability.


• Design and implement new solutions.


• Will require travel to other sites for network operations and administration activities.


• May require unpacking, moving network components of average weight and volume.
