Job summary

The Bison Group is seeking a network engineer to design, implement, and document LAN/WAN solutions for client programs. You will analyze topologies, perform upgrades, and maintain comprehensive documentation while supporting government customers and teammates across projects.

Qualified candidates have CCNA and Security+ and a TS/SCI clearance with CI poly (or ability to obtain). Occasional travel is required to CONUS sites.

Qualifications

• CCNA and Security+ certifications required or equivalent.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly or ability to obtain one.
• Experience with Cisco/JUniper network OS, routers, switches and LAN/WAN protocols.
• Ability to engineer and document network solutions, not just deploy.

Responsibilities

• Create network design plans and baseline configurations.
• Analyze topology, traffic and capacity; provide recommendations.
• Brief government customers and contractors on designs.
• Complete surveys, installations and standard documentation.
• Perform IOS upgrades and device configuration changes.
• Maintain network documentation for diagrams and inventories.
• Support cable infrastructure tasks and change management requests.
• Travel up to 20% CONUS; participate in special projects.

Description

Our mission on this program will be the design, transition, operations, and continual service improvement to include tech modernization, tech refresh, or Capital Equipment Replacement Program (CERP) activities associated with the clients' LANs, CAN and Unified Communication services. • Create network design plans, layouts, and develop the baseline configuration for the system.
• Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements and provides recommendations and guidance.
• Briefs government customer and other contractors on recommended solutions and designs.
• Complete network engineering surveys and installations.
• Assist with the development effort for the standard documentation maintained.
• Complete IOS upgrades and device configuration changes.
• Complete network documentation for physical and logical diagrams, design documentation, and inventory support.
• Perform cable infrastructure tasks as required.
• Complete change management requests to support device installations.
• May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users to operation staff.
• May perform general network administration duties as needed.
• Up to 20% CONUS travel to customer sites as needed.
• Participates in special projects as required.

Requirements

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Active Security+ Certification
• Active TS/SCI with CI poly clearance OR TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI poly prior to starting
• Experience with network operating systems (e.g.; Cisco; Juniper); network hardware (e.g.; routers; switches; cabling and other essential network hardware); and LAN/WAN protocols (e.g.; OSPF; BGP; MPLS). Type 1 Encryption
• Must be capable of engineering and documenting network solutions, not just deploying or configuring
• Good verbal and written presentation skills

• Associates + 5 Yrs
• Bachelors +3 Yrs
• Masters + 1 Yrs
