Job summary

FiberLight seeks a Network Engineer I to support design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure under guidance from senior engineers. You will gain hands-on experience with routing protocols, basic network automation, and Layer 2 networking, building a foundation in telecommunications engineering.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of networking experience, familiarity with BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, and introductory Python/Ansible skills.

Qualifications

• 2 years of networking or telecom experience required.
• Familiarity with Layer 1–3 concepts and routing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructures.
• Follow process documents to configure network devices.
• Help configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS.
• Develop simple network automation scripts using Python and Ansible.
• Learn to use GitHub for version control and collaboration on network projects.
• Participate in network performance monitoring and basic optimization tasks.
• Assist in maintaining network security and compliance with industry standards.
• Document network configurations, procedures, and basic designs.
