Job summary

Everforth Apex seeks a Junior Network Engineer in Richmond, VA to support data center, cloud, and office networks. You will help monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, and wireless environments.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years hands-on experience, solid networking fundamentals, and the ability to collaborate with infrastructure, security, and service desk teams. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional experience supporting network infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
• Experience working with Palo Alto Panorama.
• Experience supporting Aruba switching and/or wireless networking.
• Experience with Aruba ClearPass.
• Experience supporting or troubleshooting Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies.
• Working knowledge of enterprise load balancers and application delivery concepts.
• Strong networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, IPv4, VLANs, Spanning Tree, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, routing.
• Understanding of firewall policies, security, and least-privilege principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot using ping, traceroute, captures, logs, and monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center network infrastructure.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, policies, NAT, routing, VPNs.
• Use Panorama for centralized firewall administration and monitoring.
• Support Aruba switches and wireless, including VLANs and trunking.
• Administer Aruba ClearPass for network access control and device authentication.
• Assist with Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies and integration with security teams.
• Support enterprise load-balancing technologies and application connectivity.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, DNS, DHCP, routing, and VPN issues.
• Assist with network hardware installs, upgrades, and lifecycle changes.
• Monitor network availability, capacity, and performance; participate in incident response.
