Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to help ensure mission continuity. You will join a team focused on engineering, migration, and operating enterprise network security services in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires experience with next‑gen firewalls, SASE/SSE platforms, and multi-tenant enterprise deployments. The position offers hybrid work in VA (Falls Church area), with some remote work and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or equivalent experience
• 2+ years experience with Next Generation Firewalls and enterprise network security technologies
• Networking (Routing, Firewall, and Switching), Palo Alto Networks (NGFW, Panorama / Strata Cloud Manager, Prisma Access, GlobalProtect)
• Security Clearance Level: Must be able to submit to a background investigation and obtain customer clearance prior to onboarding
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations and technical briefings
• Must be able to participate in on-call rotations
• Must possess or obtain within 6 months Security+ CE/CySA+ or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Configures and maintains cloud and on-premises network security solutions
• Maintains integrity and security of the network device estate
• Creates, maintains, and updates documentation
• Supports and develops automation for configuration and reporting tasks
• Maintains and enhances knowledge of core network security technologies
• Monitors and improves deployments; participates in agency phased rollouts
• Works across teams and external groups to implement solutions
• Handles escalations and provides solutions to resolve issues
