Location: St. Louis, Missouri. Salary: $35-38 per hour. Work hours: 9am to 5pm. Education: Bachelors. The role includes installing hardware, scripting for automation, documenting activities, and supporting security and performance improvements.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business.
• 2+ years of relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Basic knowledge of network routing protocols and routing/switching tech.

Job Summary

Our client in St. Louis, Missouri is looking for a junior Network Engineer to join their team for a long term position.

Location: St. Louis, Missouri

Responsibilities

• Installs basic hardware, systems and software for network and/or security components;
• Builds capability to develop scripts that facilitate network administrative tasks and automate repetitive processes;
• Documents activities, events, materials and issues.
• Prepares system performance or configuration reports as required.
• Updates procedures.
• Provides input regarding processes and procedures that will enhance effectiveness.
• Participates in the evaluation of new hardware and software packages.
• Participates in the implementation of data/system security processes including access controls, monitoring software, and generation of security reports; Assists with troubleshooting network and services performance.
• Monitors network performance and implements performance tuning;
• Performs root cause analysis of simple problems and tracks and reports to supervisor;
• Helps manage and ensure quality of low risk/impact network installations or enhancements (e.g., coordinating meetings, tracking budget, following up on action items);

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of network routing protocols.
• Basic understanding of routing and switching technology, IP, and signaling. Basic knowledge of ITIL framework.
• Basic knowledge of industry trends and products.
• Basic knowledge of waterfall and agile project management processes, tools and techniques;
• Bachelors degree required, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business.
• Will consider candidates without a degree if they have shown/demonstrated having 2+ years equivalent, relevant experience in tools, systems, and initiatives leveraged by client.
