Job summary

Glosten, a naval architecture and marine engineering firm, seeks a Naval Architect to design vessels, develop modifications, and solve complex marine challenges in a collaborative environment.

You will apply hydrostatics, stability, and structural analyses while navigating regulations and working on field surveys and shipyard practices. Expect teamwork, growth, and client-focused problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent with background in marine structures, hydrostatics, and hydrodynamics.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Rhino3D, GHS, Python, and Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Excellent communication skills; collaboration across inter-disciplinary teams is common.
  • Strong technical writing, teamwork, time management, and problem solving abilities.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; TN visa eligibility considered.
  • Some travel and fieldwork required; valid driver's license, TWIC, and/or passport may be needed.
  • Position based in Seattle, WA; Bellingham, WA; or Providence, RI.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge of hydrostatics, stability, and structural analyses.
  • Understand and apply maritime regulatory guidance, field work (shipchecking and shipboard surveys), shipyard practices, and contract specifications.
