We are looking for candidates who:
  • Are passionate about the maritime industry.
  • Thrive in a culture of collaboration, innovation, and integrity.
  • Embrace a philosophy of client service by solving real‑world problems clients face in the maritime industry, supporting their best interests and building lasting partnerships through reliable service and dependable solutions.
  • Are motivated to identify and pursue internal and external professional growth opportunities, including areas outside their specific discipline.
  • Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication.
Responsibilities
  • Apply specific technical knowledge of hydrostatics, stability, and structural analyses.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of the maritime regulatory guidance, field work (shipchecking and shipboard systems performance surveys), shipyard practices, and contract specifications.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent experience with a background in marine structures, hydrostatics, and hydrodynamics.
  • Engineer‑in‑Training certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Rhino3D, GHS, Python, and Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Excellent communication skills. Communication is a highly valuable skill at Glosten, as we frequently collaborate in inter‑disciplinary teams and must convey complex ideas clearly and concisely to clients and other project stakeholders.
  • Strong technical writing, teamwork abilities, time management, and problem solving skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Due to project restrictions, Glosten will only consider applicants with unrestricted access to work in the United States or those eligible for TN visas.
  • Some travel and fieldwork are required. Some project assignments may require a valid driver's license, TWIC card, and/or current passport.
  • This position is based in one of our office locations (Seattle, WA; Bellingham, WA; or Providence, RI).
