Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Engineer at the junior/journeyman level in Colorado Springs. You will participate in project teams to create digital models of complex systems, design and run simulations, and apply DOE practices to deliver robust analyses.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, a STEM bachelor’s degree, and 2+ years in modeling or operations research. You will contribute to documentation, present findings, and coordinate with sponsors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physical Science, Operations Research, Data Science, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Operations Research, Modeling & Simulation, and/or Model-Based Systems Engineering
• Experience in data analysis and visualization using Excel, Python, or R
• Ability to report to designated work location in Colorado Springs, up to full time, based on customer needs

Responsibilities

• Participate in project teams to develop digital models of complex real-world systems using commercial and proprietary software tools.
• Design, build, and execute constructive simulations and apply design of experiments best practices.
• Analyze and synthesize large data sets with various analytic frameworks and statistical methods.
• Prepare deliverables to communicate analysis-based findings and recommendations to sponsors and stakeholders; balance tasks across multiple projects and communicate progress regularly.
