Choice Hotels International, Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ, is seeking a Software Engineer 1 to join the Digital Experience Domain. You will help enhance and support Choice Native Mobile Apps in a fast-paced environment.

This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering, Digital Experience Domain. You will write clean code, collaborate across Product, Design and Analytics, and participate in sprint demos.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
• 1 year with Unix/Linux and one of the shells
• 1 year using source control (Git preferred)
• 1 year writing mobile app code using Java, Swift, Kotlin
• Writes own unit tests (JUnit or Espresso)
• Desirable: Android Architecture Components, app release processes, Agile methodologies, CI tools (Gradle, Jenkins), UI/UX design
• Excellent analytical, verbal, written and listening communication skills
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies

Responsibilities

• Writes clean and maintainable code to fulfill requirements set forth by business partners and stakeholders
• Demonstrates the ability to contribute to a software engineering team
• Communicates effectively with Product, Design, Analytics, etc.
• Delivers complex code to QA that is well thought out and bug free
• Contributes frequently to sprint demo reviews and retrospectives
