Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Indianapolis is seeking a Junior Machine Learning Engineer to tackle AI/ML challenges across software development and data science. You will join a multidisciplinary team building and deploying tools to deliver insights on Rolls-Royce products.

You should be pursuing a degree with graduation between Dec 2026 and May 2027, and a minimum GPA of 3.0. U.S. citizenship is required and travel between sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, Physics with graduation between Dec 2026 and May 2027.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Must be a U.S. citizen to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Address opportunities for application of digital technologies with IT and Rolls-Royce engineering teams.
• Understand, clean, and analyze large datasets from engine sensors, test rigs, and fleet operations.
• Build, train, and validate ML models for tasks including knowledge search, anomaly research, production support, and predictive maintenance.
• Document work clearly and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
