Placements24 is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team in a hybrid role. You will assist in designing mechanical components, building prototypes, and conducting tests under senior engineers, while applying CAD skills and fundamental engineering knowledge.

You will perform calculations, literature reviews, data analysis, and contribute to documentation and presentations. A good fit shows curiosity, teamwork, and a drive for innovation in a dynamic tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Strong theoretical knowledge of mechanics, thermodynamics and materials science.
• Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and basic simulation tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with proactive attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in teams and independently.
• Interest in research, innovation and new technology development.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in design and development of mechanical components and systems using CAD.
• Participate in prototype creation, assembly and testing.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and simulations for design validation.
• Conduct literature reviews on emerging technologies and materials for R&D.
• Collect and analyze test data, and prepare findings and recommendations.
• Support troubleshooting of design issues under supervision.
• Maintain accurate records of designs, tests and procedures.
• Collaborate with team on R&D projects and contribute to brainstorming.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed in lab and workshop.
• Assist in preparing technical documentation and presentations.
