Job summary

Hooper Quinn is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing technical team. You will support the design, development, prototyping, testing, and refinement of mechanical systems across motorsport, space, marine, robotics, and consumer products.

This permanent, on-site role in Buckinghamshire offers hands-on experience in varied projects, mentoring from senior engineers, and a culture that values curiosity, problem solving, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Automotive Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or similar.
• 0–2 years of relevant industry experience as a graduate or early-career engineer.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering; CAD skills and ability to create 2D drawings, preferably SolidWorks.
• Hands-on prototyping, testing, and design iteration experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and test equipment.
• Create and update CAD models and 2D drawings under senior engineer guidance.
• Assist with engineering calculations, sizing, tolerances, and design validation.
• Contribute to prototype development, build, test, and design iterations.
• Prepare technical documentation including BoMs, drawings, and test records.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineers to deliver integrated projects.
