Job summary

WSP in Tulsa, OK is seeking an Early Career Mechanical Engineer to support transmission line design tasks, site data collection, and documentation. You will assist with research, design and concept development for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions, while ensuring quality and safety standards.

You'll gain experience with PLS-CADD modeling, field work, and collaboration with utilities and partners. Travel may be required, and relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in civil, mechanical or architectural engineering or closely related field.
• 0 to 1 year of post-education experience.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with design/build processes and civil construction standards.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Collect, compile, and analyze data from sites, surveys, GIS data, and records.
• Engage in transmission project design up to 765kV.
• Develop initial project layouts and schedules.
• Maintain project budgets and timelines.
• Adhere to QA/QC procedures.
• Develop expertise in PLS-CADD, structure loading and drawings.
• Perform basic civil engineering tasks and field research.
• Prepare concise project documentation.
