Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Civil Engineer for our Tulsa, OK office to support transmission line design projects. You will assist with research, design, and concept development for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions, generating accurate documentation and ensuring quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include data collection, 765kV project engineering, layout optimization, QA/QC compliance, and field support.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
Strong research skills with an analytical mindset.
Familiarity with design/build concepts and civil construction regulations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Self-led with attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet objectives.
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and tools.
Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and policies.
Ability to travel as needed for project requirements.

Responsibilities

Under supervision, collect, compile, and analyze data from sites, surveys, GIS data, and plans for project development and design.
Execute the engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV.
Support layout and project execution planning to establish an efficient plan.
Maintain project budgets and schedules.
Adhere to QA/QC procedures.
Develop transmission line design expertise related to PLS-CADD, structures, foundations, drawings, and specifications.
Travel to field as needed.
Assist with basic civil engineering work on site conditions and permits.
Generate documentation using drawings and field logs.
Follow safety guidelines and company policies.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Handle additional duties per business needs.
