Job summary

ITAC in Virginia seeks a Junior Designer to support the discipline design portion of projects under the lead designer or engineer. You will help ensure the scope, schedule, and budget are followed and document each project phase for internal use and client transmission.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 2–5 years in mechanical design, and strong CAD skills (3D Plant 3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design, industrial equipment general arrangements, equipment setting, and piping plans/elevations/isometrics (industrial setting preferred).
• 3D CAD experience in Plant 3D and AutoCAD 2D for equipment/piping layouts and isometrics.

Responsibilities

• Support the discipline design portion of all scope documents and deliver documents meeting scope requirements.
• Follow project schedule and budget for assigned tasks.
• Review task details with lead engineer to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain project documentation (CRA, minutes, needs lists) and communicate status to team.
