Job summary

KCAS Bio is a fast-growing CRO in Kansas City, providing bioanalytical services including LC-MS/MS for drug discovery and clinical studies. We seek a Laboratory Assistant to support the Mass Spec Bioanalysis team and ensure Analysts have the materials, supplies, and a compliant lab environment.

This entry-level role offers hands-on training, opportunities to grow in a regulated GLP setting, and exposure to state-of-the-art analytical techniques in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (AAS) with at least 1 year of related laboratory or technical experience.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety practices, including PPE, chemical handling, and Safety Data Sheets.
• Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g., GLP) preferred.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel; LIMS experience is a plus).
• Previous experience in a CRO or laboratory setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and readiness, including waste disposal and stocking of supplies.
• Prepare and monitor department-specific bulk solutions to ensure minimum inventory levels are maintained.
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance activities, including balance verification, pipette verification, and incubator upkeep.
• Support operation of laboratory equipment such as plate washers and assist with daily initialization and maintenance routines.
• Assist with small lab equipment maintenance in coordination with Metrology.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals, PPE usage, and adherence to Safety Data Sheets.
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with SOPs and GLP regulatory requirements.
• Support scientific staff by ensuring timely availability of materials and operational support.
• Perform all aspects of the job in a way that supports company brand and mission, vision, and values.
