Job summary

The Wencor Group LLC in Oxford, Alabama seeks a Machinist I to learn and operate conventional Lathe/Mill machines. You will read micrometers and bore gauges, align parts, and document work using the company system, while observing safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include setting up chucks, indicating and grinding parts to traveler specs, and following dust and PPE guidelines in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and clocking parts.
• Must speak, read, and write English proficiently.
• Prior conventional machining experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn proper operation of the assigned machine and report issues.
• Read and measure with micrometers and bore gauges.
• Center chucks and align parts for grinding.
• Indicate parts on machines and grind to traveler specifications.
• Lubricate grinding equipment and parts and use appropriate PPE.
• Document part locations in the company system.
