MORTCAPITAL LLC in Brooklyn/Queens, NY is seeking a motivated Junior Loan Processor & Operations Associate to join our growing team. This role offers hands-on exposure to mortgage loan processing, document collection, and daily operations.

You will work with experienced professionals in a fast-paced environment, learning to review applications, verify documents, liaise with loan officers, and ensure compliance with RESPA and TRID guidelines.

Qualifications

• Prior mortgage processing or financial services experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and process residential mortgage loan applications from submission to closing.
• Collect and verify borrower documents including income, assets, and credit reports.
• Coordinate with loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers to advance loans.
• Maintain accurate loan files and update pipeline systems.
• Order and track third-party services (appraisals, title reports, flood certifications).
• Ensure compliance with federal and state lending regulations (RESPA, TRID).
• Support office operations and assist senior staff with admin tasks.

• Review and process residential mortgage loan applications from submission to closing


• Collect, verify, and organize borrower documentation including income, assets, and credit reports


• Communicate with loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers to ensure timely loan progression


• Maintain accurate loan files and update pipeline management systems


• Order and track third-party services such as appraisals, title reports, and flood certifications


• Ensure compliance with federal and state lending regulations including RESPA and TRID guidelines


• Support daily office operations and assist senior staff with administrative tasks

Requirements:

• Prior experience in mortgage processing, banking, or financial services preferred but not required


• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously


• Familiarity with loan origination software (e.g., Encompass, Calyx) is a plus


• Solid understanding of or willingness to learn mortgage guidelines and compliance requirements


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)


• Self-starter with a team-oriented mindset and strong organizational skills
