Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Counsel in Miami to provide legal support for dispute resolution and litigation matters. You will manage a portfolio of claims, coordinate with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to mitigate risk, control costs, and achieve favorable business outcomes.

The role covers discovery, document review, settlement evaluation, and case management across operations. Strong judgment and litigation experience are required to align legal strategy with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law is required.
• J.D. from an accredited school is required.
• One year or more of litigation experience required.
• Active bar membership in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation and dispute matters, including discovery responses and subpoenas, and work with outside counsel to resolve cases efficiently.
• Oversee a portfolio of pending claims, disputes, and litigation matters with deadlines and budgets.
• Represent Ryder in mediations and settlement discussions, protecting company interests.
• Attend local hearings and court proceedings as Ryder’s representative where needed.
• Support dispute resolution through early case assessment and settlement evaluations.
• Develop litigation strategies to minimize risk and external costs.
• Analyze claims, defenses, regulatory obligations, and potential liability exposures to guide strategy.
