Job summary

Ocean Aero Inc. is seeking a Junior Linux and Embedded Systems Security Engineer to implement fixes and hardening across Triton vehicles, Linux servers, and cloud workloads. You will be the sole security engineer, owning remediation tasks from investigation to verified deployment, reporting to engineering leadership.

This role excludes routine IT admin work, focuses on security, incident response during business hours, and grows toward independent security ownership with CTO oversight.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Linux, systems engineering, or security experience.
• Practical Linux CLI, troubleshooting, users/permissions, SSH, logs.
• Ability to read advisories, assess applicability, verify fixes.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain asset/software inventories; run vulnerability assessments.
• Apply patches and configuration changes with engineering oversight.
• Write Ansible playbooks and scripts for hardening and checks.
• Configure/compile Linux kernels; troubleshoot build/boot issues.
• Learn Triton build with Yocto/BitBake; contribute fixes to images.
• Follow DISA STIGs; document findings and remediation steps.
• Investigate security alerts; coordinate containment and recovery.
• Help develop incident response procedures and exercises.
• Assess vehicle access, services, update mechanisms, and network edges.
• Test fixes for regressions; document blockers and risks.
