Job summary

Colliers Engineering and Design is seeking an entry‑level Planner to join the Land Use Planning Team in Phoenix, AZ. The role supports entitlement and development review processes and collaborates with project managers, planners, engineers and designers to translate concepts into compliant, buildable communities.

The ideal candidate has education or experience in land development, understands municipal planning procedures, and can navigate regulatory environments while delivering thoughtful

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and experience in planning.
• 0 to 3 years of related planning experience.
• Desire to pursue AICP licensure preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend regulatory and policy documents, development plans and law cases, ordinances, maps, and agreements.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project; basic GIS knowledge; AutoCAD/Photoshop/InDesign desired.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze data for planning projects and identify constraints and opportunities.
• Coordinate with clients and committees to schedule meetings and share information.
• Outline, design, and draft narratives for planning applications.
• Attend neighborhood meetings and public hearings related to entitlement projects.
• Prepare presentations, handouts, and display boards for meetings and assist in presenting.
• Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines, including scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate GIS data collection and prepare maps for planning reports.
