Job summary

Tech Mahindra is seeking a Junior L2 Database Administrator (DBA) for MS SQL Server in a 24/7 support role. Location is Dallas, TX and Atlanta, GA with Day 1 onsite requirement. Minimum Bachelor’s degree; 3-5 years of experience in SQL Server environments and related duties.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience assisting in the administration of Microsoft SQL Server production environments.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server backup and recovery operations, including full/differential/log backups and restores.
• Familiarity with SQL Server maintenance tasks, including index maintenance and statistics updates.
• Ability to perform basic SQL Server health checks and monitor growth trends.
• Follow runbooks to execute standard SQL Server changes under supervision.
• Experience with ITSM processes using ServiceNow for incidents and requests.
• Experience supporting access changes, database refreshes, and routine operational requests.

Responsibilities

• Assist in administering Microsoft SQL Server production environments.
• Perform backups, restores, and verify successful backup completion.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks and index maintenance.
• Monitor health metrics and identify availability risks for escalation.
• Follow approved runbooks for standard SQL Server changes under supervision.
• Log and track incidents and requests in ServiceNow.
