Job summary

A leading recruiting company in Chicago is looking for an experienced SQL DBA to provide technical expertise in delivering and maintaining IT solutions. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 5-7 years of hands-on experience with MS SQL Server. Responsibilities include database migrations, effective communication of complex information, and project management. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience with Database Mirroring and AlwaysOn Technology.

Qualifications

• 5 – 7+ years hands-on experience in MS SQL Server, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Experience in migration of users, databases, and/or database servers.
• Broad technical expertise with deep knowledge in MS SQL Server, Database Mirroring, AlwaysOn Technology.

Responsibilities

• Communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology.

Job Title: SQL DBA

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 6 Months

Job Description: Provide deep technical expertise to support delivery and maintenance of IT solutions. Provide IT teams and business personnel with technology solutions by weighing advantages of technology standards, market availability of products, and risks and benefits of technology to meet business/IT needs. Significant customer engagement, work planning, project management services provided to IT customers. Expected to work under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 5 – 7+ years hands-on experience MS SQL Server, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Experience in migration of users, databases, and/or database servers
• Broad technical expertise with deep technical knowledge in MS SQL Server. Experience with Database Mirroring, AlwaysOn Technology.
• Excellent communications skills - Able to effectively communicate highly technical information in non-technical terminology (written and verbal)
• Understanding of change management principles associated with new technology implementations.
• Understands and applies project management principles when leading and directing work

Expected Skills:

• MS Office

Preferred: Technical certification in Technical Area of Specialty
