Job summary

Intone Inc. is seeking a Junior Java Full Stack Developer for a 6-month contract in Parsippany, NJ. You will build and maintain full-stack applications with Java, Spring Boot, and React, delivering scalable REST APIs and modern UIs in a product-based environment.

You will implement test automation, work with Kafka, and optimize SQL queries while participating in CI/CD pipelines and observability practices to ensure reliable production systems.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional development experience.
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React for building production user interfaces.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency with Python object-oriented programming.
• Experience building scalable REST APIs and microservices.
• Proficiency with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Webpack.
• Experience with frontend build tooling and package management.
• Experience with end-to-end and UI test automation using Playwright or equivalent.
• Experience developing test automation using tools such as JUnit or Karate.
• Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman.
• Experience working with JSON and XML, including schema validation.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, and CI/CD automation.
• Hands-on experience working on Unix OS and proficiency in shell scripting.
• Experience with relational databases and writing complex SQL.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with messaging and event-driven systems such as Kafka.
• Strong experience using observability and telemetry tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or Grafana.
• Background in product-based company environments or FAANG companies.
• Hands-on experience with AI productivity tools such as Claude and Cursor or similar IDE, and working knowledge of foundation models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI agent development

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern front-end technologies
• Build production user interfaces using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React with component-based design patterns
• Design and implement scalable REST APIs and microservices architectures
• Develop and execute test automation strategies using tools such as Playwright, JUnit, and Karate
• Work with messaging and event-driven systems including Kafka for asynchronous communication
• Manage data using relational databases, including writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
• Implement CI/CD automation pipelines using Git, GitLab, and related tools
• Containerize and orchestrate applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues using observability tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, or Grafana
• Leverage AI productivity tools and techniques including prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation to enhance development efficiency
