Job summary

First Roles is seeking a Java software engineer to design, develop, and maintain complex Java-based software capabilities and microservices in Linux environments. You will build enterprise RESTful services using Spring, work in Agile teams, and collaborate with Git, Maven, Nexus, JIRA, and Confluence.

This role involves integrating autonomous AI workflows to implement multi-file features, refactor code, and generate automated tests, while guiding AI agents across multi-repo codebases with focus

Qualifications

• Degree: Technical bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience
• Proven experience with Java and RESTful services is expected
• Active Secret clearance is required to be considered
• Ability to work in Linux environments and Agile teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Java-based software capabilities and microservices architectures.
• Incorporate autonomous AI coding agents into daily engineering workflows for feature implementation, refactoring, and test automation.
• Guide AI agents across multi-repository codebases while auditing generated code for architectural integrity, performance, and security.
• Build and scale enterprise RESTful web services and APIs using Spring and related modern libraries.
• Collaborate in an Agile team setting using Git, Maven, Nexus, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Work with cloud environments such as AWS and Azure, as well as distributed databases and search engines like Elasticsearch and MongoDB.
