Job summary

Edgewater Federal Solutions is hiring an Application Developer I to support our federal client in Lakewood/Loveland, CO, and other approved locations. This entry-level role emphasizes Java-based development, RESTful services, and database work within Oracle and PostgreSQL, with Agile practices and cloud modernization in AWS.

On-site position with growth opportunities for recent graduates. You will work under senior staff to design, implement, test, troubleshoot, and document enterprise

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required.
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of software or application development experience.
• Basic knowledge of Java development and SQL.
• Familiarity with SpringBoot and web app development concepts.
• Exposure to front-end frameworks (Kendo UI, Angular, React or similar).
• Basic understanding of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Understanding of SDLC concepts, testing, and debugging.
• Familiarity with Agile development methods is preferred.
• Exposure to AWS cloud is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, testing, and maintenance of enterprise applications in a Java/SQL/SpringBoot environment.
• Support development of RESTful services and web interfaces that integrate with databases.
• Perform routine database tasks in Oracle and PostgreSQL and assist with performance improvements.
• Troubleshoot basic application, interface, and database issues with guidance from senior staff.
• Follow secure coding practices and help address vulnerabilities identified during testing.
• Support authentication/authorization mechanisms per security requirements.
• Collaborate with team, customers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Support application modernization and cloud migration activities in AWS.
• Document code comments, development notes, and SOPs.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Support production/operational activities including on-call rotation.
