Job summary

Edgewater Federal Solutions seeks an Application Developer I to support a federal client in Lakewood or Loveland, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Folsom, CA, or Billings, MT. This entry-level role focuses on developing, maintaining, and modernizing enterprise applications in a Java-based environment under guidance from senior staff.

Responsibilities include design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and Agile participation.

Qualifications

• <b>US Citizenship required</b> and must be able to obtain a Public Trust
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 0-2 years of software or application development experience
• Basic knowledge of Java development and SQL
• Familiarity with SpringBoot and web app development concepts
• Exposure to frontend frameworks (Kendo UI, Angular, React) preferred
• Understanding of relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Knowledge of SDLC, testing and debugging
• Familiarity with Agile development methods preferred
• Exposure to AWS and cloud modernization preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, testing and maintenance of enterprise Java/SQL/SpringBoot web apps
• Support RESTful services and UI integration with databases
• Perform routine database tasks in Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Troubleshoot basic issues with guidance from senior staff
• Follow secure coding practices and help fix vulnerabilities
• Support authentication/authorization mechanisms per security requirements
• Collaborate with team, stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement
• Assist with cloud migration and AWS-related tasks
• Document code, development notes and procedures
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Support production and on-call rotations
