Job summary

Edgewater Federal Solutions seeks an entry-level Application Developer I to support a federal client onsite from Phoenix, AZ. You will assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Java-based enterprise applications, contributing to REST services, database tasks, and secure coding under senior guidance.

We require US citizenship, ability to obtain a Public Trust, a BS in Computer Science/Information Technology, and 0–2 years of software development experience.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 0–2 years of software or application development experience including internships or entry-level roles.
• Basic knowledge of Java and SQL.
• Familiarity with SpringBoot and web app development concepts.
• Exposure to REST APIs and modern front-end technologies preferred.
• Awareness of AWS and cloud concepts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, testing, and maintenance of enterprise applications in a Java/SQL/SpringBoot environment.
• Support RESTful services and UI components that integrate with databases.
• Perform routine database tasks and assist with query optimization in Oracle/PostgreSQL equivalents.
• Troubleshoot basic issues with guidance from senior developers and leads.
• Follow secure coding practices and assist with vulnerabilities identified in testing.
