Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS and Traffic Engineer at an entry level to join our ITS/Traffic Team in Houston, TX. You will design plans and drawings for ITS/Traffic projects, including signals, illumination, signing, and pavement markings, and support safety studies and utility coordination.

The role involves organizing investigations, reviewing construction submittals, and contributing to cost estimates and reports under guidance from senior staff.

Qualifications

• Experience level: 0–2 years in a related technical field.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college/university.
• E.I. or E.I.T. preferred for professional registrations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans and drawings for ITS/Traffic design and studies.
• Develop traffic signals, highway illumination, signing and pavement marking layouts.
• Conduct engineering investigations and planning within a defined scope.
• Review shop drawings during construction for conformance with specifications and prepare progress reports.
